volume for the Forex?

Discussion in 'Forex' started by trader56, Jan 3, 2006.

  1. Can anyone tell me which site(s) might provide volume for the Forex charts?

I've been looking at dailyfx.com on and off, but their free charting service did not have volume displayed anywhere on the chart last time I looked.

    Thanks for any help!

There is no such thing as volume in FOREX.
It's because it is over-the-counter market.

Noone knows the volume until it is surveyed many months later.
By the way - welcome to the club.

  3. Thanks for the info, MrP!

How can you judge the quality of the buying or selling?
Is this ALL based soley on price then?

    It comes with experience. Seriously.
I'd say - if you can predict 30% of price moves out there - you are good to go.
Just try avoiding the other 70% of unexpected... -))))

    Cheers.

  5. Gossip helps. Market News International posts professional trader views from the futures exchanges. Futures can be used as as proxy.

Knowing where demand and supply is (in size) is very useful. Also knowing where the option barriers are helps avoid trading into defensive plays by the big boys.

    Best regards

and how can we know about option barriers ?
also about the volume, i know it's OTC market but why platforms like FXALL and currenex won't post volume traded through them?
