Volume at price chart providers?

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by hollywood77, Jun 5, 2008.

  1. What chart packages provide volume at price style charts like the type found at http://www.chart-ex.com/, or something similar for all types of futures contracts, not just the ones on CME/CBOT? I currently trade using IB and would rather not have to open a new account with another broker.

    Any help would be appreciated.

quotetracker has something similar. You can use your IB data.

  4. Hi Hollywood77,

IB provides quotes on electronic contracts, and their API provides historical data, meaning you're not limited to the tools your broker provides (TD AMERITRADE and OANDA also provide history), therefore you have a lot of software choices out there.

One free choice is QuoteTrader, whose DOM displays volume at the respective price level, visually as a histogram, as well as numerically.
It also displays size - which is the best guess of future volume at price - emphasis on "guess" :)

Additionally, because IB provides history, you can use QuoteTrader's charts, which contain over 30 technical indicators, studies and drawing tools.

... oh, and you can also do single click trading and order management from the DOM, Charts or the new FX Dealing Box . . . FREE :)
Here's a brief video demonstration (watch).

Let me know if you have any questions!
