Excellent call. By my count, this trade gained $50.4k profit (17.2 and 33.2 for the two different exits) And even more impressive is that the gain today was only 1.29% of the account, if we assume no other trades of course.

You seem to trade futures every now and then, but this seems infrequent unless you are hedging your options plays perhaps. Why is that?

My buy limits were dropped as they were day orders and not GTC. I am not sure what happened there but it worked in my favor so I haven't looked at it (day vs. GTC). I covered all at 860-870 when I woke up. Regardless, I'd rather be lucky (than smart).

I was also short delta in GOOGL, SPX and long GME.

I spec-trade futures every day. I don't post it here as I may not have stops in the mkt and it's too high frequency to start a journal for that purpose. I don't even post most of my spec-D1 trades to the chat (Telegram).

There are trades in which I'll be long(short) deltas at inception and short(long) futures against the vol-deltas for skew/smile. I am heavily short GOOGL here, but it's a large passive bear vert, so a lot of my market view is reflected in that; IOW, I am not going to take every signal I have that is short D1 as I may be already short (n)K GOOGL Ds.

Its humbling that even you can commit an amateur sin! :D

I'm surprised to read this. I have read many of your posts, and although I don't understand 95% of the options stuff, I got the impression that you weren't very much day trading futures, (if I'm correct to assume that by high frequency you mean holds that last for less than an hour to maybe a few hours.)

You made a great call here with the shorts, and also the long call on Monday night. What can you say about data that you find critical to your assessment? The 10 year bond is clearly getting lots of attention in the media these days as a catalyst for the moves, but if you can say, what are you looking at that makes you go long on Monday evening and short on Thursday just before the close? (off the top of my head, they say bonds move the market, they say currencies are the biggest market, and of course perhaps the bets placed via options supposedly forecast the future... is any of this true?)
