Exited several shorts today right at market open. Good profit. Later market stabilized.

Markets moved slower (especially in the deflation of risk premiums). Now every retail guy, fund trader, and real money guy will be looking to get out of their vol.

Even 15 years ago, vol would stay elevated after an event. You could sell vol in SN for months after a big move and capture elevated VRP. Now it's gone within a few days.

 

That was sorta my point, just cloaked with a garden-variety subtlety.

 

Good times are back.
