VIX down 1.36, S&P up only 3

Any thoughts about this?

Whenever I see the VIX down more than a point, I always see the S&P up double digits or close to it.

Should we see a small correction?

Maybe because of the Fed announcment tomorrow??

 

it is option expiration week. vix often goes down during an expiration week, i think.

 

VIX crapped out below 10 around last expiration week. i am wondering if this is its typical behavior (i mean dropping like a rock around expiration). i seem to have seen this very often right before expiration Friday.

does anybody have some stats on VIX behavior around the expiration week?
