I have backup HD's on my machines. If a virus/ trojan etc. attacks my machine do they infect all the HD's on the machine or just the one currently in use during the attack?
    as always, tia

While a trojan can contain a virus, it is the virus which "attacks" a machine. And it will "attack" the master HD, not the slave. You should have anti-virus software installed on the master, so that whatever you back up on the slave is already scanned and virus-free.
