The teacher's assignment was an innocent calligraphy exercise she had assigned before. No one even blinked until recently. The current thinking is that we need to teach our children to be open minded and tolerant of others beliefs. I think we should stop teaching religion, ANY religion at public schools altogether. Let me understand... if public school students had a lesson plan that asked them to copy a verse in the New Testament then the ACLU would be all over it. If students sang a Christian hymn at a school holiday concert then the ACLU would be demanding that all the teachers and administrators be fired. But the following is OK... Students sing 'Allah Akbar' at holiday concert http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015...h-akbar-at-holiday-concert.html?intcmp=hphz04 I can understand public school students having a comparative religion class. We did when I was young. It taught the straight-forward facts about religions. We did not read or copy their holy books, nor did we sing religious songs in holiday concerts. What makes the ACLU and the left think it is perfectly acceptable to have Islamic verses and hymns in schools, but somehow Christian verses and hymns would be offensive & illegal as well as requiring the firing of school staff. Where did this double standard come from in the public school systems across the country?
you may be right, there is quite a difference in the ways jews behave in most of the world where they are a minority and the way they behave in Israel where they are a majority.
