Virginia poll. Dems are sweating bigly

  1. It is a nice tactic really..

If Youngkin wins then it was a fair and honest election resulting in a change in voter sentiment...

If Terrry wins then the election was stolen and is fraudulent..

Hillary led in the polls but lost so GOP claimed polls are biased and should be ignored.

Youngkin leading in polls and polls are amazing and show true direction of the election...

Not sure who will win Tuesday but the hypocrisy from both sides is staggering...

I don’t think the hypocrisy is equal on both sides and neither is staggering. Rather it’s par for the course. I think the republicans are convenient. When polls suit them they embrace them and when they don’t they attack them. It is pretty much their approach to everything. Crude and unsophisticated.

  4. Per the title of this thread, I like to see the dems sweat and indeed that is happening.

It is also true that the numbers are so tight that even if Retread Terry wins that it is problematic to have him win by the thin margin when they are trying to figure out what the lessons are for all their midterms campaigns. Playing the Trump card is very, very, delicate and dicey game for both the republicans and the dems in swing states. And Biden and Harris are drags on their campaigns- not just from the duds showing up but because they are drag on democratic politics in general. Too many dem disasters in progress.

Nevertheless, and although I do like to see them sweat, it does seem to me that the latest Fox polls are jacked up more than a bit. Youngkin, no doubt is ahead now by a point or so in the polls and the enthusiasm is with him BUT the overall atmospherics are against him too. This is Clinton-Soros turf and although the dems like to push back and say that northern virginia is not not just an extension of DC, well, it is. And the rest of the state is yaddy-di yaddy-dah. But the fact of life is that the dems are like cockroaches, there is just a lot of them there they have to be overcome if you are going to win.

So I concede upfront- and always have- that the dems are still in a more than halfway decent position to win this thing. But they have problems either way. This is wayyyy to close for them to be happy about beyond the joy that comes from surviving a train wreck if they win, and if they lose, well, it will be another Kabul moment for them. That just cannot be cleaned up. So dems, I concede a lot of the points you might want to make but if you lose this thing, DO NOT-I REPEAT- DO NOT try to pretty this up. That dog don't hunt.

Y'all be careful there in Virginia on Tuesday. The Soros Vans will be driving in excess of 100mph in some parts of the state.

Hard to tell. The republicans own the high ground on education issues in Virginia right at this moment in history. Education issues are one of the dems favorite little sex toys that they think they own and can use to screw the people. That's not working for them right now.

I do like surprises. So if Youngkin could keep that in mind and the republicans get their fingers out of their arses and show up to vote THAT WOULD BE GREAT.

McAuliffe's comment that parents should not be involved in their kid's education was a turning point in this race. It is the point where McAuliffe sunk in the polls and Youngkin rose.

In an environment in Virginia where "equity" education is a contentious issue in multiple local school districts and very visible in Loudoun -- McAuliffe's comment was very poor -- in fact it may have cost him this race. This is coupled with the clear evidence over the past week that the Virginia state education department provides CRT guidance, lesson plans and support to local districts while promoting material from multiple sources. Coupled with documents showing the McAuliffe administration pushed schools to adopt CRT material.

The bottom line is that parents vote -- and now many parents of multiple ethnic backgrounds are demanding a voice in the lesson plans being taught to the children. The parents are not going to put up with CRT-based material which demean and belittle their children -- and this reality is going to sink the prospects of politicians who state parents should not have a voice in their children's education.

  6. What made it worse was that it was not a gaffe. He said what he believed and then he started getting superior with the people and letting them know that his view was the right one up on Mount Olympus.

Then just when parents felt like they were being demonized, the Justice Department starts putting the words "parents" and "domestic terrorists" in the same sentences. And whereas the National School Board backed down and retracted, the Justice Department traipsed out Merrick
Garland and others to double down on explaining that up on Mount Olympus where the feds and wokesters lived, that angry parents really can be problems.

It is sort of a perfect storm that McCauliffe could have defused by sayin that he chose his words poorly. Except he didn't. He said what he believed. It's like Hillary calling regular folks "deplorables" because they did not vote for her. You can do that, if you like watching the consequences.

The Virginia election is a clear warning to politicians who state parents should not have a voice in their children's education.

Bill Maher warns Virginia Dems: McAuliffe could lose election over schools issue because 'parents vote'
The HBO star said 'what's going on in the schools' was going to be 'the issue' in future elections

  9. Terry McAuliffe sent all his kids to private school - unlike the peasants that he proposes to represent who have to deal with the school boards. Probably if a girl-with-a- dick rapes someone at Terry's kid's school it won't happen twice.

It's like Gavin Newsome splainin' to the peasantry that he was a "ZOOM parent" just like them. Except he never was and his four children had been back in their private schools for months when he said that. Other than that, it's all good for Gavin and Terry.
