    Left wing media remains silent.

Dont worry though folks, clearly the police are on top of this as they have managed to stop 100% of the violence and destruction that would have inevitably been caused by those crazy Tea Party activists, if they were left unimpeded.

Peaceful Occupy protests degenerate into chaos

    Nov 3, 7:21 AM (ET)

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - A day of demonstrations in Oakland that began as a significant step toward expanding the political and economic influence of the Occupy Wall Street movement, ended with police in riot gear arresting dozens of protesters who had marched through downtown to break into a vacant building, shattering windows, spraying graffiti and setting fires along the way.

"We go from having a peaceful movement to now just chaos," said protester Monique Agnew, 40.

The far-flung movement of protesters challenging the world's economic systems and distribution of wealth has gained momentum in recent weeks, capturing the world's attention by shutting down one of the nation's busiest shipping ports toward the end of a daylong "general strike" that prompted solidarity rallies across the U.S.

About 3,000 people converged on the Port of Oakland, the nation's fifth-busiest harbor, in a nearly five-hour protest Wednesday, swarming the area and blocking exits and streets with illegally parked vehicles and hastily-erected, chain-link fences.

Port officials said they were forced to cease maritime operations, citing concerns for workers' safety. They said in a statement they hope to resume operations Thursday "and that Port workers will be allowed to get to their jobs without incident. Continued missed shifts represent economic hardship for maritime workers, truckers, and their families, as well as lost jobs and lost tax revenue for our region."

  2. I figured this would happen in CA.

Every major financial (think Orange county) blow up ended with Ca getting the shaft from wall street. That state is loaded with dummies. NY rocks.

If it was entirely unobstructive, thus entirely unnoticeable, could we still call it protest?

    Sure.

I've been sitting at my desk this morning doing work and protesting the fact that women don't come to work topless.

Lol, me, I'm thankful women don't come to work topless. Though there are a few.....

If you want to see them, ask. Remember the old joke? You may get slapped a lot, but you'll probably see a lot of tits, too.

You should smash your monitor and throw a brick through your own window, that way you can be a "real" protester. :D

Are you saying peaceful protest DON'T work?

If by "work" you mean Power telling Dissent, "your concerns are noted, we'll get back to you", then no, I'm not saying that.

The problem is that they are protesting at the wrong place. The government is the one who has the ability to set the rules, and thus change things, why arent they protesting outside of congress?

Instead they are going around and screwing over any business unfortunate enough to be int here way even though the places they are trashing had nothing to do with it. If these assholes want to hurt businesses why not go to Goldman Sachs headquarters and start breaking stuff? As it stands they are just destroying the businesses of every day americans to protest greed on wallstreet, does that even make any sense?
