Viewsonic or Foxconn ?!?

  1. Anyone care to opine?

  2. I have never used these devices. Just a look at the specs on both gadgets, my first impression is that they will be very slow.

Viewsonic, processor Intel Atom 330, passmark score 632

Foxconn, processor Intel D2700, passmark score 823

I used to use a box that has an older AMD processor with passmark score around 2000 and I concluded that it was too slow. I built a box with Intel i7-930, with passmarket score around 6000... and recently I concluded that it was not fast enough. The Second Generation Intel chip i7-2700k available today can be around 9500 or above.

So if you look in that light, you may experience these nano boxes being slow.

For $300... I would rather spend a little more to get an i3/i5 second generation chip laptop. (These nano device did not include the price of the monitor either...)

If you need something to access the Internet with a browser and reading static pages it may be okay. Anything that require a lot of calculations these devices may not be adequate.
