I watched the series for a while. It was pretty good. But it wasn't just about trading. As I recall, it was largely about investment banking, people screwing each other over, some office politics and so on.
If you have some experience, this video should be the icing on the cake. It paid immediate dividends for me. I recognized that even someone like PTJ has to work to sit on his hands. It validated to me that the way I learned to read price action the way I did, was completely valid. PTJ is a Gannalyst. Amazing. Prolly the reason Surf was a Gannalyst too. It validated to me that sometimes trades just don't work, so there is no need to go tweaking your system if you take a loss or two. Adjust your risk position size instead to maintain small losses and big gains. If I ever trade stocks or futures, which is unlikely, I learned not to dump a big order right on the market or they will cannibalize me. Much like what happened to LTCM. They died because they could not get out. Negative news that should affect the market but doesn't is a signal to be looking for longs, and vice versa. Just a great video if you have the pre-requisites to absorb all the info.
One more thing, about that Holy Grail. He does tell u how to spot a bottom with a high degree of confidence. If decliners overwhelm advancers on very high volume, but the index does not take out the pivot low, then the sellers are spent, there are no more. For those of you who take the index, here is your Grail. Enjoy
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, RCG, as did I. It is interesting that, although we watched the same video, we have drawn fairly different conclusions on what we can take away from it. I guess that's what makes a market, eh?
Experiences, Gabby, I have a decade of Gann under my belt. When he started talking, I could focus on some very specific things. I was already using a large chunk of what he was talking about, so it was very easy for me assimilate any new info he might provide. For me, this video was 100% mental. I already trade as he does, with significantly less order of magnitude, but when i am right a 30% day for me is not unusual.
Medical research has come a long way. Perhaps there's a cure for that now. 30% days, eh? And not unusual? Hmmm.
