video card?

Discussion in 'Hardware' started by investwthme, Nov 20, 2008.

  1. I'm in the process of ordering a new pc and I don't know what type of video card(s) to put in the machine.
I want to use 2-4 screens.
Should I get 2 double cards or a quad card.
I am not tech savvy, is there any other set up that people use.
    any help appreciated :)

I like these, they run well, fanless, no noise. 2 DVI or VGA outputs.
pci-e x16. and relatively cheap imo. ~130$ cnd.

    NVIDIA Quadro NVS 290 - graphics adapter - Quadro NVS 290 - 256 MB

a link just so you can have an idea, most likely available at other retailers.
  4. You can get the NVS 290's even cheaper than that via ebay. Gnome swears by them. I have bought cards on Ebay before and they worked great. They last nearly forever as no moving parts in that model.
