I ended up installing two Nvidia 290 PCIe x290s. Working fine. Quiet, no fan noise. In fact, never had a computer this quiet. That fan noise I had was just with the Nvidia 440. Not sure what that was all about...whether the card caused a fan to come on, or it was something to do with the card. I've had this 3400 open so many times you'd think I could answer the question on the fans. But I didn't notice. LOL. OldTrader
