  1. You suggesting that I should up the hypothetical port to a $100K basis? Or should I just make $85K on the capital already proposed?:D

  2. No, your returns are already good enough! I've just spammed the SPX credit spread thread with your results. Should be a flood of new people any minute now...LOL.

  3. Hahaha... now I'm gonna have a bunch of people telling me how much better they are doing. You forgot to mention that I started a month late and I pretty much took AUG off. LOL!!!!:D

BTW, I think the people who visit this thread come more to hear you than me.:p

  5. Even better.

I doubt it, but thank you for providing a thread into which I can direct my verbal diarrhoea.

BTW, that reminds me, where is cnms2 these days?

If we keep this dialog up we'll be up to 10,000 posts in no time. We should take some lessons from this thread:

How soon will metooxx drop from the top 15?

Now you know where half of Maverick's posts come from.

  6. BTW Mo,

I just realized after reading your last few posts that I have been far too unidirectional lately.

As of today, I am once again 100% cash in this journal, so I should be able to even things out a bit now. Thanks for the inadvertent reminder.

  7. Was out of the loop this afternoon and this thread runs 20 posts. Must be mo's spamming getting people jumping across threads :D

Cache, only open positions in anything chip related is a bear call spread and a short delta straddle on APPL. That sector is a no go for me for a while, havent even been on top of developments lately as i have no interest in playing it.

Ryan, perhaps a .25 would've worked? Just teasing, though perhaps it gives you another perspective to look at. you closed the XEO spread too soon and didnt close the OIH soon enough, so perhaps you are asking yourself what the hell are you supposed to do? What i find helpful is re-evaluating your PnL regularly and justifying to yourself holding/offseting a particular position when risk no longer justifies your original bet.

Mo, where are these top lists?

Oh and cache, not bad of a return, admittedly, my overall YTD performance is lower so whats the min investment in your hedge fund? :D

  9. Yeah, I haven't been watching it either because I can't justify trading SOX options. Today it caught my eye because I left a really healthy profit on the table (in my real account) after the unexpected rally this morning. It became really obvious that it was the only driving factor today.

That depends. I've got about 95 spots available for accredited investors, but only about 25 for non-accredited. Which one do you want to reserve? LOL Just kidding.

Actually to be honest, I'm not really concerned with getting investors right now. I just want to find myself in the upper end of the top quartile for the next couple years.

I think the highest return I saw from a hedge fund last year was like 115%. Not sure what the drawdowns were though. I don't have to be at the top of the list, as long as my drawdowns aren't severe, and I'm in the top 10-15% consistently.:p
