You're not kidding. Every stock I look at is at 52-week lows right now. I said at the beginning of this journal that I was going to limit long put/call plays to 5% of capital, but there are a lot of good plays right now because of the low IV. I might increase that through next month when earnings get underway.
For those who might be following my actual trades; Is there any interest in me posting my trades that don't fall into the vertical spread category (e.g. calendars, diagonals). I was just going to include them occasionally on one of the other journals already dedicated to those types of trades so as to avoid confusion on this thread. But if any would like them listed here, let me know. Caution: Some of them are simply test strategies that I use under various conditions when I find myself in less than desirable circumstances. IOW, the purpose of opening these positions could be to balance/hedge my portfolio and might not be a great idea if traded alone.
yes , MAY , did u see it ?? Nice day for me today , many of my longs had a spike in vols even when VIX when down again.... BBY , NFLX , DNA , SEPR , INSP.
Going to be sitting on my hands tomorrow until I get a good idea about how everyone is reacting to the FOMC. Lately we have seen an initial jump that wasn't really followed up by much buying interest. I think most people are expecting two more rate hikes, but the last CPI report got a lot of hopes up. I'm expecting the wording to be almost identical to the last one.
Actually yes, there is. I don`t want interfere a lot with verticals only, as they are only a part of my strategy, but some other techniques are welcome.
are u in any of those trades (long) ? DNA or NFLX ? What a home run on NFLX in the last 1.5 day. Good luck C_L
