Yes, I have some sort of "fuzzy" rules to determine possible character of market. I am mapping S/R form many timeframes (gann, fibo, trendlines) & longer term information to come up with good points to initiate positions. Then my trades have multiple outcomes, one "bread&butter" one that makes most of my trading & 2 other ones with larger goals. For example you can take 5-10 points with trend or counter. ok, but 20-30 you will only get if multiple trends/SR will play out together, so it pays to be flexible & have scenarios.

best & good trading to you,

  3. Velocity,

starting to wonder if you really scalp the DAX(if you really do get up at midnight, you must sleep half of the day, what about LIFE, going out etc..) . The ZEW survey estimates? Most of these euro release don't move the market at all. Actually i wasn't even paying attention to it (although I look at FX news every day to know the econ. release times) and was ready to enter ESTX at 5am, at 2677 , but the market "zoomed" to 2679 on the survey and I let it go , it then reversed. So survey or not who cares about this? Gotta look at IFO, GDP, ECB statements, thats'about it.

  4. It is only the US economic news (numbers) who moves the market. Not the german, french, italian etc....

There's no static list of "releases" that the market watches all the time long term. The focus changes over time.

Of course US releases are the most important generally but the UK and European news can bite you if you don't know it.

I've even been bitten by German Bund auction results...for example.

Can anyone recommend a really good, timely newsfeed?

Although I trade 95% technical, it pays out to get certain events transmitted more timely...

  8. I'm done for now, might trade again once the U.S. opens if I'm awake.

I'm not trading very well and I'm getting frustrated with this narrow range. Going to quit before I do something stupid.

    288 X 288 = 550.00 euros (gross) a whopping $32 euro (net).

IF YOU EVER FIND YOURSELF GETTING UPSET WHEN YOU ARE TRADING STOP.
