Well, if someone is "new to trading the DAX" he/she will with almost certainty do some "stupid stuff". So why you advise at least 5k for every contract? Intraday initial margin for DAX at Interactive Brokers is 5625 euros...

If a newbie dax scalper is making 100 RT's a day, break even before commish, but will be down 160 after commish. (with very low 1.6 rate). After 20 days learning curve - it's a loss of 3,2k! How can you advice 5k per every contract is beyond me.

"For charting I using myTrack. They have excellent connections to every market because they are really big player. Also RealTick would be interesting,I think about them. However myTrack (I have 8 ears experince with them) have no problems with data feed to europe."

Hmm I have a running diuscussion with Mytrack over their performance n DAX regarding outages , missing data and failure to deliver during high volumes...It may only be UK customers but service cannot be regarded in UK as excellent... To be fair they acknowledge that and are working on it...

  3. I also use eSignal as for my data feed, and I agree that since July eSignal has been excellent for Eurex data.

  4. First of all a newbie DAX scalper should not be doing 100 rt's a day. I said this in an earlier post and I will say it again. IF YOU ARE NEW TO TRADING YOU SHOULD TRADE LESS NOT MORE. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE 100 RT'S A DAY.

ALSO IF YOU ARENEW TO TRADING THE DAX DON"T TRY IT UNLESS YOU HAVE AT LEAST $10K TO RISK, AND IT WON"T WORRY YOU TO LOSE IT. DON'T TRADE WITH MONEY YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE. IF EMOTIONS ARE TIED TO YOUR MONEY YOU ARE SURE TO LOSE.

Secondly, I said earlier as well, If you are intraday postion trading I think 2% fine, as a scalper I risk between .25%-.5% of capital on the average trade.

If you think that $5K is not enought to trade on DAX contract with thats fine you are entitled to your opinion. Lets just agree to disagree.

I'LL GIVE ANOTHER WARNING. IT TOOK ME YEARS TO EVOLVE INTO MY STYLE OF TRADING. DON"T TRY TO START SCALPING LIKE MAD. MY INTENTION IS NOT TO GET YOU TRADING MORE, BUT TO HAVE YOU TAKE SOME OF THINGS I DO AND MESH THEM WITH YOUR OWN STYLE.

MY INTENTION IS NOT TO GET NEWBIES TO START TRADING THE DAX, IT IS TO HAVE TRADERS WHO ARE ALREADY TRADING THE DAX PICK UP SOME OF THE THINGS I DO.

  6. You follow the big Dax-components SIE, DBK and ASP. But why not Deutsche Telecom?

OK. One more question regarding the drawdown. Does the 25k figure from your last 3 years apply to trading 1 or more contracts at a time?

  9. SAP, SIE, and DBK are my favorites. I do watch DTE, ALV, DCX, and BAS also. SAP, SIE, and DBK they move faster then DTE with its lower share price. That's what I have observed at least

  10. That is my worst peak to trough draw down over all. When things start getting ugly I cut back my size.
