Velocity sold to Institutional Liquidity LLC. Stay or leave?

  1. Yes, stay. ILQ is as good or better

Interesting to see the 'YTD' rankings (must be a newer feature)

Does the laggards show the YTD? Do you see MAX on there at all?

  3. I'm not trying to play TOMMY TRADER here but the sums seem astonishingly small. Do the the larger players simply not participate in the board? Or is it something else I'm missing? Am I correct to think that inertia (a very poweful force as Newton attested to!) is keeping most everyone at Velocity at least on a wait/see basis?

I think it is interesting that the convenient list of firms that is always on the right side of the home page has, for the moment, disappeared at the very moment that members might like to consider alternatives. Either I'm paranoid -- entirely possible -- or the sponser immediately played it smart and relegated competitors to an unseen location.

  4. That snap shot was taken at 9:40. How much PnL do you think it generated in the first 10 mins.

I have an account with them and called them this morning. Nothing really is going to change. Now if I start to notice major issues. I'll probably jump to AMP.

  5. I decided to bail out of Velocity (after four years), and moved over to Deep Discount Trading. What people have said about Howard Lender is true. He even worked on Sunday to get my account set up. I submitted my new account request on Saturday. The DDT/Crossland account was funded on Monday, and by the end of the day I was fully operational again (only offline for one trading session).

I never had any problems with Velocity, but the constant changing of fees over the past several months, and the final conversion to an IB for ILQ got me spooked.

  8. Don't ever patronize me again. I know full well who Advantage are. I was just making a comment on his margin requirements if he needed it.

I spoke with Advantage a few times these past few days. I plan on moving me accounts over there. X-trader there is $625 plus $75 if you want xstudy, as compared to velocity which only charges 500 for both. Advantage said they have some added backend servers, thats why the added cost. Xtrader pro was around 1500. I do about 3500 contracts/month and they said they could most likely beat velocity commission wise and we discussed leasing a seat and that they have ppl that can do that whole process for you. I never asked them about margin rates.
