Veep is an American political satire comedy television series, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, that premiered on HBO on April 22, 2012.[1] The series was created by Scottish writer Armando Iannucci as an adaptation of his British sitcom The Thick of It. Veep is set in the office of Selina Meyer, a fictional vice president (and, later, president) of the United States. The series follows Meyer and her team as they attempt to make their mark and leave a legacy without getting tripped up in the day-to-day political games that define the American government.[2]

Veep has received critical acclaim, and has won several major awards. It has been nominated six years in a row for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, winning the award for its fourth, fifth, and sixth seasons. Its second and fourth seasons won the Writers Guild of America Award for Television: Comedy Series, and the third season won the Television Critics Association Award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy. Louis-Dreyfus' performance as Selina Meyer has won her six consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Critics' Choice Television Awards, a Television Critics Association Award, and five consecutive Golden Globe nominations. For his portrayal of Selina's personal aide, Tony Hale has received five consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, winning in 2013 and 2015. Supporting cast members have also received Emmy nominations, among them Anna Chlumsky (five nominations), Gary Cole (one nomination), and Matt Walsh (two nominations).

The series has been renewed for a seventh and final season which is scheduled to premiere in 2019.[3][4][5]

This show is sooo f'ing hilarious.
Anybody who has ever posted in the Politics Section here needs to binge watch this thing.
    Trust me on this.

Get through season one for character development and you'll be hooked.
I think in its own way, its better than Seinfeld.

  6. Nothing is better than Seinfeld, and alot of other 90's TV shows. -- That was an epic decade.

    Not just TV shows...but 90's Ferrari F50 and 355. and Porsche 964 and 993.
    90's Music. and movies.
and Sports...Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson. Tiger Woods at his youthful prime.
and everybody's lovable President, Bill Clinton.
Microsoft Windows 95/98 PC. The magical, golden rush of the birth of the internet and dot coms.
    Booming, exploding shock market.
Cindy Crawford and Pamela Anderson were the It girls.
90's WWF wrestling was way better than today's shitty, watery PG 13 kid's era.
That decade was a golden age for video console games and computer games as well.
In the mid/late 90's...everybody was kind of into fitness and bodybuilding.

There's way more characters, and they are all excellent. Every line is a laugh out loud once you know the personalities.
The sets are incredible. They shoot all over the country and overseas. Very high budget.
Plus...it is most definitely rated R for language.
    Its f'n hilarious.
