VectorVest v Stockcharts.com

  1. Hello

18 year Stockcharts.com subscriber, very happy. However I am wondering if VectorVest is a better product or not. Anyone care to provide some feedback, if you have used both ?

    Thank you very much

I used Vectorvest a few years back. An excellent data base with some interesting backtesting capabilities. I'm a stock charts subscriber and find it meets all my needs.

Vectorvest uses a moving average to give buy and sell signals. Its EPS data is forecast rather than actual so it tends to change. I'd suggest spending a couple bucks for their trial.

After a year I found it wasn't giving me the value I thought it would.

  3. I do like VectorVest and have gotten their 1 month trial several times. I've never actually pulled the trigger on a full monthly subscription since their software is very closed and there's no ability to export anything other than a watchlist. I like doing my own data analysis so this was a deal breaker for me. Their data sources are very good as mentioned.

  4. I have my own user-defined scans on Stock Charts. Can I do that on VectorVest.

  5. Or maybe the better question is should it be a complimentary product?

I use StockCharts too but I also use a number of other products / sources.

They have a 30 day trial for 99 cents. Take it and report back.
