Vanishing Quarterly Reports!

Discussion in 'Politics' started by inandlong, Jan 28, 2003.

  1. I read an article the other day how more companies are starting to forego the quarterly earnings report so they can "focus on the long term."

To me this is a crock. What does the Q report have to do with long term goals? Here are the long term goals, and here is how we are doing so far in meeting those goals.

But no, they want to let you know annually that they lost their butts all year long.

    Other opinions please.

I think the reasoning behind it is......to calm down the volatility in their stock price. And make the markets less panicky.
But I agree, a stock purchaser would like to know the company finances at least every 6 months, if not every 3.
    Would make me very suspicious

  3. On the heels of all the scandal and accounting fraud, companies are suggesting keeping the public even more in the dark?

    As if....

Do you seriously think that companies are set up to be bastions of morality?
Do you think they give 2 shits about the stock holders?
Do you think laws are made to protect us little people?

    No Way!

    Sorry to disillusion you.:(
