Using Tradestation as a charting package

  1. Hi,

I did forget to mention that you can check out MultiCharts at:
    http://www.tssupport.com/products/multicharts/

If all you are looking for is a charting software that provides you Easy Language capability and has similar look at feel as that as TS.

Just curious, why don't you want to use them as a broker?

  2. Thanks MM.

I have an account with Open ECry and they have been great. I hate the idea of opening a separate account just to be able to have my charts and indicators.

This may be a bit further from the listed topic, but can anyone share their experience with TS as a broker (good or Bad)?

I have been using TradeStation from 2002, together with their brokerage service, and never had major problems. I automated some strategies and have my computer run them all day long. I only have to check my trades once every half hour. True, I trade off of 5 min bar charts, and I usually hold a position to the end of the day. I don't use matrix at all.

In my opinion TradeStation is very good for charting and automating and backtesting strategies, and reasonable as a direct access broker, in terms of reliability, speed and fees.
