If anyone wants this minder, please email me and I will email it to you. Once you have it, you need to save it in C:\TAL\FAVORITES\MARKET MINDER\Oz.rtw

Please note that I will be losing my Internet access from Friday through 5/2/02. Verizon was supposed to install DSL in my new place today, but they are having problems ... The soonest they will come now is 5/2/02. Cable is coming in on 5/3/02. So it might take me a while to get back to you.

Mike this trade was so long ago, I don't really remeber it :( The email I posted here was written a few days after I closed the trade, so it was "hot" in my mind back then, but it is very cold now.

  3. To All,

I saw PAYX come up on Knock Down. It disapeared. What I liked was that it broke through prior resistance at 38 and broke the lower BB. It has also been in a nice downtrend.

The stock pulled up and found support at 37.80. I took a short position at 37.79, stop at 37.90, target 37.20 (just above todays low)

Is this a good target? Too conservative? Too aggressive?

If I don't get stopped out today and I don't reach my target today, how do I handle my stop tommorow if the price gap opens up above my initial stop? Do I get out immediately?

    Thanks,
    Mike

There's a lot of support around todays low, after that the 200dma acted as resistance for 6 wks, maybe act as support.
Stock has 15 blocks so far today, don't think they're buying in. My perceptions are those of a swing trader not a scalper. Only scalp cause it's there. I wouldn't let it go above 38.

Looks like a good trade. Stop did not trigger and price target hit :) Actually this is a classic support and resistance trade ala the book The Stock Trader :)

    I'm on a dial-up today. Yuck.

  7. Bullfighter,

Nice going. Have a look at SBSA. Is it a skyscraper short or breakout long?

  8. AAA,

    SBSA

    Its higher than average volume.
Meeting resistance at the upper BB and previous highs.
    Narrow spread < .10
Might make a good short canidate with a tight stop.
I personally would not feel comfortable - In FEAR of a GAP UP tommorow. I would not know how to mange the stop tommorow if it did. I would also like to see it trade down a little first - giving some sign of weakness.

    What do you say, teacher?

To start the day I shorted 1000 tyc at 22.49. I didn't have any charts up of it as I was just going off price action. Unfortunately, I only made 24 cents on it.

Saw Ryl on a scan tried to short naturally did not get it off.

Saw PHsy on either newkids or powertrader took 400 at 27.67 at 10:49. minor stall in an up move somewhat risky but it was a good sector. It look to be popping through recent high on the chart so I thought a tight stop would be appropriate as I would either be right big or subject to a stuffing. Stop was 27.51. Sold 200 out 28.20 intended to let rest run but that explosion stuff hit my stop out at 27.77. Not a bad trade. I might have let the other 200 ride a long time.

bought 400 splx at 17.42 on a buy stop. Lots of bids and I figure if we went though 17.40 we would bust through highs. I didn't know it was take over news. Once I found out I took a 5 cent loss.

Buy 400 PRHC @ 36.56. at 12:49. (new kids) I was a proud papa. Should have bought more. Used a tight setup of about 20 cents. Planed a two part exist both taken out. 200 at 36.94 and 100 at 37.90. Got greedy and changed my sell of 100 to 100. Of couse because my plan was so well followed it was the high print. That 37.92 print must have come in later. (I am writing before the close.). Sold the other 100 much lower at 37.40.
This was the first trade of my life that I planed ahead of time and allowed at least 2/3 to be worked on by the market without me looking at all day. I am pretty enthusiastic about that feeling. Perhaps I will be able to be a swing trader.

I also tried to buy a flag latter in PRHC but I was early and I gave back about 40 bucks. Not a bad way to make over 500 bucks on my stock trading today.

I still need to be able to monitor the good ones in a more efficient manner . But I will figure that out.
