Using Fax Machine with Comcast

Has anybody gotten their fax machine to work in conjunction with Comcast's Triple Play service?
I have an HP fax machine I want to hook up.
I called Comcast but the CSR wasn't sure what to tell me.

My fax works OK on Comcast phone and internet service.

 

thanks for the replies. do you know if you cancel Comcast voice, will they immediately put your home phone # up for grabs to be used by other people?
how long do they hold it for you in case you change your mind?

 

If you cancel service it goes back in the queue and becomes a first-come, first-served situation. If you want to preserve your number, port it to a cell phone. Will take a couple of days.

 

I read one forum where the person just plugged the fax machine using a phone line right into their wall's phone jack. Think it will work? I don't want to damage anything.
