Using BTC to buy stuff

  1. Fucking phone. I meant to write “there are NO real use cases that do not involve breaking the law”.

That’s a fun website but they need to update it. It stops at 1/1/2022, but that’s conveniently at roughly the same price it is today. They other flaw is the selectable purchase dates look to be cherry-picked.

  3. So you guys are going to keep crying over lost Lambos? Don't you get it yet? The value in bitcoin IS that it can be used to buy Lambos.

  4. I am beginning to think maybe you’re full of…“Lambos.”

I rewatched Life On Bitcoin this weekend. It seems that BTC had some steam starting for real world daily uses but it hasn’t advanced since then. I still think that using BTC for everyday purchases would be the most powerful bull factor that could happen. The more businesses that accept it the more people would learn about it. Once they know a little about they would likely try to pile some up. Kinda like the whole population accumulating just a few gold coins, it adds up.

  7. When?! How many years has it been? The more it rockets up, the less likely it is to actually be used as a medium of exchange. Because people will greedily horde it and then sell it on the market for real currency. If it stabilized, then it might under ideal conditions be used as a medium of exchange. (But I doubt it; it is backed by no one and nothing.) But in that case, the bloom would be off the rose because the number-go-up attraction of get-rich-quick would be gone. Damned if it does; damned if it doesn’t. So enjoy the number-go-up while the number goes up and please let’s not gush about how it fixes a broken world, as some of the crypto evangelists are apt to do.

  8. It's not a hodl and get rick quick scenario anymore...as mentioned, anybody who gets rich now is already rich. Bitcoin is not only becoming a staple in the economy...it is the new economy.

Remember back in the 90's where snowboarders were ostracized and banned from using the chair lifts from skiiers. Fast forward 20 years and you had a snow boarder jumping through a ring of fire in the opening ceremonies of the Olympics? Well bitcoin was like the snowboarders of the 90's back about 10 years ago.

It’s been a decade. One Satoshi is currently worth less than one cent. Definitely useable for any purchase until BTC reaches 50M. I said nothing about “fixing a broken world”. I really don’t care if it replaces the dollar or not. I’m just saying that the more businesses that accept it the more people will get informed about it and possibly buy a little. Who cares if they actually use it to buy movie tickets or a Tesla? Adoption as an everyday form of payment could bring more money into the space than Wall Street. I’m coming at it from the promotion angle. I firmly believe that you have an obligation to promote investments (that you had enough belief in to risk your own capital) to other people so they can benefit as well. And also boost your own returns….

  10. You’re right. My apologies. It was a couple other crypto bros who harped on that from time to time.
