This so-called "data mining" has been around since the early 90s but it's gotten a lot more insane lately. Everyone seems to be saying it works, but I have a serious reservation. The ones who are able to use this info in their trading on a large scale are usually the Wall Street big boys. They have the funds to literally move the market. As such, I ain't so sure whether its their deep pocket or the actual data they mined that is responsible for the move. I highly doubt I would have the same prowess to see into the future (and make money at the same time) had I the access to their information. With my limited trading account, I doubt it would even make a dent.
