-mattjclark Ok, see this one is like really abstract, so you'll have to bear with me. My parents named me Matthew Justin Clark, but as I got older people just called me Matt, thus the "matt". The "j" comes from my middle name Justin, except I just used the first initial, so "j". And the "clark" comes from my last name Clark. So its matt+j+clark = mattjclark You got it? I can explain it in more detail if it's too confusing. (Yea, I know, I'm not too creative)
man, I was going to post you to tell you to get over to this thread and explain that handle to us, but you beat me to it.
Yea, I'm very deceptive. One time I told some guys on a thread that I was buying Coke, but I was actually buying Coca Cola Bottling. Boy did they feel dumb.
I shorted Priceline in the 25 dollar range. A guy that I was stiting next to, everyday would ask me if I was going to cover today and I kept telling him "pound, pound, pound". So one day, a new trader came in and sat behind me. He asked the guy next to me a question about Priceline's chart. The guy replied, "I don't know, ask Pound". Ever since then everyone called me Pound. -Pound
Now that you mention it, I don't remember how I made that conclusion. Boy, sometimes I'm really in space.
Took the name from a computergame which was launched in 93 or 94 by Origin ( also known for their Ultima role playing games ) It was a kind of sequel to the famous WingCommander games and played in the WC universe. I played this game for many months and kept an old 486 machine to play it even today once in a while. The protagonist is a kind of lonesome rider who seeks to become rich through - what else - trading. Not stocks, but commodities between various planets and space stations ( a bit like Elite, for those of you old enough to now the the best space-trading sim. ever produced ). A nice sequel was launched in 1995 - called Privateer 2. Since then, it became very quiet around these types of games and apparently, Origin was taken over by EA. However, a new sequel is foreseen to be launched in 2003, by MSFT games - title : Freelancer. When I started to trade the stockmarkets, I felt a bit like playing Privateer. Consequently, I choosed this as my nickname.
good idea chasinfla... I had a feeling few understood my handle. It almost sounds like I want to be Sean, as in " O I want 2 B Sean". Rather, I am saying "O God it is 2 much B-eing Sean". In other words, the name is Sean.
