My college golf coach gave me both of these nicknames. After I "hacked" or "chopped" (terminology for playing bad golf) , in a tournament, he started calling me Axe. Then in my sophmore year because of my DeNiro-like nose, he started calling me Hawk. This caught on with the team so during my college years I've had 2 nickname plus countless others that stuck. I decided to fuse axe and hawk because it is a handle that is never taken in chatrooms and on web-based mail servers. Ax

My initials are jw but my school stuck a q in the middle on my id card. I just put two vowels in there to make it a word, if i can call it that. This name is also my username for an online game i play, medievia. Anyone else play med?
I was a downhill ski racer in college and raced on "volkl" skis, then after the race we would go the bar and do shots of bacardi "151"...ahh, the good old days
Honestly, I don't know why I chose this name. I guess I thought it sounded cool. I was actually thinking of using my given name. I'm curious as to what impressions this name gives. Should I change it or keep it? Or is it the content of one's posts that gives impressions that are then associated with the name? Or both?
I was raising a dogue de bordeaux puppy at the same time that I was choosing a screen name about four years ago. "Bad dog!" was something I had uttered countless times...I guess it stuck. Michael
This thread was a ton of fun to read. I see we have gained more posters since it was last replied to and thought I'd revive it. Robert
