TonyOz, "Sunday Bloody Sunday" was the first song I heard by U2, and obviously the one which made me like them a lot, so of course I have absolutely no obection if you play the opening every Sunday. I would even suggest you do it on daily basis ... maybe the market would shake up a little bit ... Hey ... please don't talk much about those good old days ... it depresses me Best of luck !
My two favorite groups were U2 and Depech Mode. I'll never forget 1987 at the LA coliseum U2 Joshua Tree Live and then a year later, summer 1988 at the Rosebowl in Pasadena a concert for the ages which began at 3:00 PM featuring six bands closing with Depech Mode's Music for the masses concert. They recorded live the album 101. I was there along with 100,000+ and witnessed the Guinness record-breaking food fight. And then just as the sun sets and DM takes the stage it started to rain (lasted about five minutes) in the middle of summer. It was incredible. Since we are off subject and talking about music ... I can't find a link, but I have in my car a cd by zboy (the moderator of this thread). I love it! And so do my wife and son (although Jordan does make me change it to Disney's classics such as Hi Ho Hi Ho It's off to work we go, sometime, <g>) So, Zach, if you are reading this, can you please provide a link to your music? I don't think anyone will mind, and plus I gave you the well-deserved plug, and if the vendor-haters get on your case, I'll stand right there behind you Aldrums, I am a tone deaf uncoordinated music lover. I can't sing or play, but love to listen. My best friend growing up played the drums, and all I ever wanted was to learn how to play the Sunday Bloody Sunday opening Then, I dated this gal who played the Piano and she taught me how to do the guitar part, on a piano This was the only thing I ever learned to play, but it was when I was 14. Needless to say, I don't remember any of it. So my special request is for that tune. And, beer is on me next time I see you ~ deal? But I can't promise to stay up late like last time. I am getting old ... Tony
Oh well ... Tony ! You surprise me !!! As U2, Depeche Mode and The Cure have long been my favorite bands ... and Sting when it comes to male vocales ... and I was always asking myself and still am, what is there about this British music ? There is a mystery out there ... why is it that each time I like a group or a singer, they happen to be British ? The British are definitely gifted ! Regards !
"Don't think U2 would thank you for calling them British" lol ... Well all I know is that I'm not British myself, so I won't predict that I'm fully aware about those conficts ... but if it's gonna please Bono, then, all my favorite bands are British and except U2 who happened to be Irish. Or I tell you what ? My favorite bands are all European and let's forget about those silly minor differences ! Peace !

It's nothing to do with conflicts but the fact it's a different country, it's like including Canada as part of the US
I won't argue about who are originally called British and who aren't. British from Britain, English from England, etc .... So I will just skip it all ... but you can still call Canada American since it's in North America, no ? The word "America" sometimes replaces North America and stands for the continent, so the United States of America (or of North America) and Canada are both American, no ? Easy
Magna ,interesting nickname, did you ever ride European bikes, dirt bikes?Used to race them ,1970s. Penton-sachs,Husquavarna ,2 strokes powered them.We used to joke about some[not all]2 strokes-theyre fast but they dont last.............................. Reminds me of some of the trends you see in bioteks.
