I get what you're saying. The dollar's future is certainly under scrutiny, especially with concerns about global trust in US decisions, both economically and diplomatically. If key allies start moving away from the dollar, it could cause some serious shifts. The erosion of trust in Uncle Sam’s judgment could lead to more countries diversifying their reserves and looking for alternatives. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Just 20 years ago, who would have ever imagined the dollar could one day lose its reserve status? Moreover, who would have possibly thought Uncle Sam could actually go bankrupt? Well, sadly, we're already there. And Trump is only making that happen faster IMO.

    "...found my cleanest dirty shirt."

USD is still the cleanest shirt in the pile. So, my question is... who's doing wash?

For reference, this is where we're at the moment and where we're likely heading. Should that lower trendline ever breach, ya better run for cover.

I think it can be argued that since it was a disaster waiting to happen, its better to do it yourself and then have some control over it. Its like a building that is structurally unsafe. If you actively bring it down via a demolition team and explosives, you can control which way it falls and implodes. But if you just leave it alone until some random structural element fails, you have no control over which way it falls.

So back to USD, the trade imbalance and reliance on Chinese imports, to even support your military, was necessary if the USD was going to be the world reserve currency. But if you no longer want to rely on the Chinese, and want to bring your manufacturing back, you have to dismantle the USD world reserve currency status. This way, you control the demolition, and it happens on your terms.

Ughh, must you make this more convoluted than it is? :sneaky: The mention of a controlled demolition is a good one. The way things are going at the moment, however, it looks like Trump is hell bent on dismantling IRS and Federal Reserve. And if that ever happens (which sounds retarded but that dude ain't normal), that in itself will surely demolish USD. So there ya have it, a controlled demolition on Trump's own terms without even actually trying.
