Looks like some kind of a short term bottom in place, but I'm not trading it. I've noticed that even the best looking countertrend patterns don't seem to hold up in the face of the trend. Anyway got stopped on EUR short. Can't really find any news.
Can you say "Short covering rally" Sure, I knew you could. Short used as 1.3299, Long Aussie .7385. Would have put a EUR long on but it rocketed past 1.1605 as I was putting those others on. There's still the pullback I guess. Looks like the London punters are going to get kicked in the teeth again.
I remember looking at the usdcad chart last night before bed, and it scared me. I actually tried to get out of my EUR short but the platform froze. Then I woke up, the Euro was still down, and I forgot about the straight upmove in the usdcad. Gold now reversing as well. 1290 retest?
Great, what's your view on JPY? Is it have a room to fall more 111 - 111.50, or risk sentiments will occupy traders' minds?
Everything pointing up for dollar now. I'm short Aussie from .7357 on the retrace. Little bit of a tough trade because its already moved so much. But Aussie looks like it's breaking support here. Cad weak despite higher oil.
Good call, hope you got out lower. Even though it moved so much, you should/ could have played it for a short move considering you already thought it had moved so much. Myself, I just got burned on the retrace back up a couple hours ago. Still in a profit though.
Funny to read my old, previous post. Looks like we've been consolidating since then. I'm short the world against USD from this morning (NY). Saw that gold had broken hard and figured the move would continue in the currencies. Once the EUR broke 1.17 again I figured it wouldn't go back up. Short EUR, Aussie, And. I believe there was some news about Greece and taxes. Looking now.
Hmm. Nothing really new. Still looks like they've managed to keep the Euro together. With duct tape and baling wire. Trading currencies has made me much more aware of politics than I care. And more cynical, if it were possible. Could be old age setting in, too. You never know. . .
