Big ECB meeting this week they may be ending the QE programming . This may mean a bullish run up until the announcement later this week , buy dips. Long term trend still down and weak.
Closed out. I agree, they can talk about ending QE, but not so sure they can do it under the circumstances.
The most important skill is read between the lines, don't listen to financial pundits and understand what really drives the market instead of following the crowd
Funny how that thinking from awhile ago keeps coming back. Last night was a good example of not being centered and paying the price. I can read between the lines pretty well by now, and actually I spent a bunch of years learning how to do so from one who made it his vocation. But then there's the market, which really doesn't seem to care how I pay attention to this or ignore that. It's just patience, an open mind, and seeing what is in front of me that seems to matter most.
I know that I have to follow some crowd somewhere sometimes. Hopefully it's the right one. I also gave up trying to understand what really drives the market. I wonder how anyone can think they have this knowledge, and where it comes from. It's all just a probability that exists in this moment. Or not.
I hope he's not dissin the 100 % record on long term direction calls we have here all verifiable in this thread starting with the very first post?? Yes the rest of the time we do talk shit.
Just reading Joni Mitchell's lyrics to the song "Both Sides Now." I guess one of the ideas to the song came from Star Trek, the episode where Spock gets emotions and falls in love. Anyway my mentor, who was surrounded by information, used to always tell me that "We don't really know very much." I never believed him till now, perhaps. You can lay on your back and look at clouds and see anything in them you want to. Then they rain and snow and ruin everything. The same goes for the market. You can see on ET that everyone trades the market that's in their head, and it's difficult to get outside of that. But it can be done. You want free--form experience, not polluted by your beliefs. The minute we think we know something, it can trap us.
