US Taxpayer to pay for Trump's Wall

Discussion in 'Politics' started by wildchild, Jan 7, 2017.

  1. You are an excuse maker, and excuses don't get the job done. I am not going to blame Democrats if Trump can't get the job done. I am going to blame Trump if he does not get the job done. What is the point of becoming President if you are just going to blame people for your failures? Obama had 8 years, Obama care is a failure. But feel free to blame anyone but yourself.

I promise to not blame you if Trump fails. I am results oriented, your side just enjoys name calling and playing the victim. I am ready to criticize Trump if he does not deliver. Can you point to any posts Here4money where you have done the same against Democrats? Feel free to also reference any posts you posted under a different alias. We know you are "new here" since you just signed up in early December.

Nope, just a history buff that knows how our democracy works. I don't expect a president to make unilateral decisions w/o the House's or Senate's support unlike you expecting Trump to authoritatively do so.

The Democrats do not have a problem in being "too nice". Our neighbor, who is a local Democratic official, explained it best (from his perspective) - "Democrats have great ideas but are terrible at execution. Republicans have terrible ideas but are great at execution."

This is true at the federal, state, and local level (according to him). It may be related to that Republicans generally come into office with business, engineering, and/or operational background. While most Democrats tend to have minimal background besides "soft" liberal arts degrees with a law degree on top of it.

You can see this right now with how the Republicans are organized in advance exactly the plan they will execute to repeal Obamacare in several clear steps. When the Democrats tried (and eventually succeeded) to pass Obamacare several years back the entire thing was a muddle and poorly executed.

  4. Well maybe you need to share your vast historical insights with those in the Democratic Party. Let's go over some recent history to help your party in the future, IDENTITY POLITICS NO LONGER WORKS!

Putting someone in charge simply because they are African American, Hispanic, Female, Muslim or Gay is not enough. Calling people Racist, Sexist, Islamophobic and Xenophobic at the drop of a hat should no longer be the "go-to play". If you are a fan of history as you claim then share those insights with your party and lets see if you can rebuild it.

Meh, I see way too many pushovers in the left's ranks. They never catch up to the rights' strategies and haven't realized that compromise is not a working strategy anymore (as sad as that is). It's all a sport now and they get their ass handed to them too often. If they have to dumb down the rhetoric and get dirty to appeal to the mob they should be willing to do so or continue on losing.

Of course history matters. But Obama is a serial blame artist. Holds himself accountable for nothing bad, takes credit for everything good.

The right's refusal to work on anything didn't stop the Democrat led Senate and House from failing to pass a budget for years, for example.

You're seriously going to blame the budget on the Democrats?

  9. I think the last few pages of this thread and the exchanges between Tsing Tao and Here4money showcase a perfect example of how conservatives like me are ready to criticize Trump if he does not deliver while the Left automatically takes a defensive posture to spread blame and make excuses. I make no excuses for Trump, I just expect results.

The Left classically blames everyone but themselves. I stand ready to hold Republicans accountable and criticize them if needed. Will you ever find a Democrat willing to do the same to their own party publicly? We have a clear division here between Excuse Makers/Blame spreaders and those who demand results and are ready to hold people accountable.

It really boils down to this in its purest essence, Democrats never demand accountability or results among themselves.

in fact the need for results is why trump got elected.

Boehner, Ryan - McConnell McCain Graham and most of the republican party... and the democrats failures to honor even their basic promises ... caused about half the voters to vote from Trump.

Trump may have only been supported by a little less than half the voters but many of his ideas were by 60 to 70 percent of the country and even some of bernies voters.

Trump got elected because he seemed like the best candidate to deliver some results.
Its time for results. Otherwise there will be a third party.
