When it comes to the Saudis, they will pay the cheque. But regarding Israel and Egypt, this is common. Israel is the number one receiver of US aid in the whole world. Do you know who is number two? Yes its Egypt. This all started as a part of the camp david deal in 1979. Nothing new.
The US taxpayer (or at least the debt will be serviced by the US tax payer). We will soon have spent $1Trillion in the mid east since 9/11 and now in order to make things safer we have to throw another $65 Billion away or whatever it is. If Iran wasn't going for a nuke they sure will be now with their neighbors being armed with Billions of $ worth of new weapons systems. Maybe someone can explain to me how those billions in new weapons systems are going to make us all safer from Iran when we can take them out any time we want without spending one extra dime, as can Isreal. Just a thought but perhaps those billions would be better spent jump starting the whole green technology evolution here in the US so we wouldn't be at the mercy of Iranian and Saudi oil, nah, that just makes too much sense.
