US on the socialist path.

  1. Are you aware how much it takes to run for the office? Who do you think have the resources to give money so that one could run for an office? Do you really think that if a corporation provide you with $$$ they will want nothing in return? Why because they love democracy? What do you think all those lobbyists do in DC? Go to lunch with Senators and talk about what? the weather.

Evil in the social aspects of a society and culture? you mean like providing free lunch to kids in schools? WIC program - money for food for poor kids? Free health care - so that when you get cancer and your bill is half a million the house where you kids do homework does not get auctioned off. Oh yeah I can see the evil.

    Capitalism, socialism, shmeinelism...

There will always be 2 groups of people - the cans & the can'ts. How would you deal with the can'ts has been a puzzle for centuries, still unsolved. To be fair or to be unfair, that is the question. What is fair & what is unfair? Who should decide that - the can's or the whole society? We put government in charge hoping that they will make life better (more fair), but perception of fairness is an individual matter.

Life has never been fair to all & maybe it never will be, because human life is based on an inborn survival ability. Balance preservation is far greater than anything else.

I say - wealth should not be transferred to children, but should be distributed back into societies. Because it is the accumulation of wealth that makes life worse & worse year by year until the climax is reached when balance is totally disturbed.

There is an elderly man that lives in a neighboring village, he is a son of a cab driver. His father couldn't leave him much, but that hasn't stopped his son from building a big fortune. He owns around 1,500 properties (commercial & residential) in our county. Just think about it - 1,500. And that is relatively a small amount compared to commercial property developers. Now, when he dies he will most likely leave his wealth to his family. If they don't squander it, they in turn will leave it to their children. Is that fair? That's fair as far as they are concerned of course. Charles Munger calls people hoarding gold jerks, but doesn't the same apply to people that hoard wealth?

  6. Three groups: Mostly cans, very few can'ts, a lot of don't-want-to's-never-had-any-intentioners.

one of the main reasons people build wealth is in order to give it to their children. I don't work for the government. I give back what I want not what you want or what the masses want.

Well, maybe that's what's wrong. Society ought to decide these matters & not individuals. Maybe what's right by you isn't right to society as a whole? After all you live in a society & therefore a part of it.

I am not a slave of society, at one extreme it is called communism.
your statement also shows your u lack of understanding the rationale for free markets where free people make decisions instead of decisions being made by government edict.

I suggest you read books by von mises, milton friedman and adam smith. It is obvious that u have a sense of entitlement probably resulting from a poor american education.

my obligations are to myself and my family. if u take from me the efforts of my labor i will work at the bare minimum or i will game the system which is what happened in communist russia and is evolving in a similar fashion in the US as the nanny state takes over.

fyi "the hoarders of wealth" do not keep money under the mattress but are the source of funds to built the industries of tomorrow to ensure a better future for all.
