US on the socialist path.

Discussion in 'Politics' started by zdreg, Oct 23, 2010.

  1. That is no accident. One of the central themes of The Creature from Jekyll Island is that the world's ultra-wealthy elite are working on creating a socialist society where they control the masses for their own financial gain.

  3. The US is selling, obviously, massive massive quantities to "fund" the deficit/debt.

  4. Socialism == Preventing race to the bottom
    Capitalism == Promoting race to the top

    We need both to sustain a great nation.

  5. Why didn't the Chinese buy hard assets when they got the money from their exports in the first place but instead bought paper?

    Answer this question first before you pose false dilemmas here. You constantly try to push the idea that USA is a socialist country that will get destroyed soon. It is true that the US is moving away from a possible future anarcho-capitalist path

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarcho-capitalism

    to a more reasonable mix of social capitalism.

    The Chinese have the problem. The want to make a yield on the money they extracted from the US using unfair currency manipulation, not invest them in the US. They are stuck between a rock and a hard place because their political influence in the US is fading. On the other hand, the Germans with strong political influence through the use of corrupted politicians in member states of the EU have managed to maintain an unfair game of keeping their production up and have suckers buying their goods with currency they print and give them as a loan.

    The way Germans operate now is reminiscent of the period before WWII.

    "Why didn't the Chinese buy hard assets when they got the money from their exports in the first place but instead bought paper?"

    good question.

    "The Chinese have the problem. The want to make a yield on the money they extracted from the US using unfair currency manipulation, not invest them in the US."

    they can invest anywhere in the world they prefer.

    "to a more reasonable mix of social capitalism."

    no such animal. it does not mean that corporations which pollute should not pay damages if they can be determined.

  7. 1. Falling standards of living for all but the rich.
    2. Unemployment above 10%.
    3. Slow but steady loss of manufacturing jobs to Asia and Mexico taking away good paying union jobs.
    4. Less and less union jobs that traditionally offered the most protection against the abuses of employers.
    5. Growth in WalMart jobs - low paying with no security or possibility to make a jump the the middle class.
    6. Social security tilting toward insolvency.
    7. National debt which was created by slashing taxes for the rich, lowering taxes on big companies and providing all kinds of tax breaks and help for the big business.
    8. Cutting social services like welfare and public housing putting poor people to fend for themselves.
    9. Out of control military spending 500 - 700 billion a year - going to military industrial complex aka corporations.
    10. Keepng education substabdard, health care and higher ed. expensive.

    YES ALL OF THESE INDICATE THAT THE US IS BECOMING A SOCIALIST COUNTRY!!!!!!

    LOLOLOLOL - Oh yes the regular folks are living it up. We are so socialist the scandinavians are getting upset. They want point 1 to 10 as well.

    You guys are this dumb by design or listening to Rush and Beck has made a mush out of your brains?

  8. 99 weeks of unemployment compensation? Food stamps for 41 million, Section 8 housing, public sector pension plans that guarantee retirement income at a substantial percentage of earned income, enormous subsidies and/or outright "free rides" to many private schools based on earnings (yet subsidized by everyone else who is deemed "too rich" to not pay).

    You are a complete and total jackass if you think that you can ignore any or all of these facts. There is a reason why this is the "silent" Great Depression, simply because we have an enormous electronic safety net.

    I don't "subscribe" to either political party and I'd argue that's why I see things a bit more clearly than the partisan hacks who like to toss grenades back and forth. It's pretty clear that you've fallen into the trap of waging war against one ideology with your own failed ideology.

  9. Unemployment in Norway is rising a bit this year and expected to be around 3.5 percent.

    Unemployment benefits - 104 weeks, If you are 64 you can collect it until 67 and then switch to social security. BTW to get any unmployment you need to work just 8 weeks. Yes 8 weeks.

    Higher education = free
    health care = free
    deficit = they do not have one
    debt = does not exist
    education = free an superb
    homelessness = not an issue
    infrastructure = excellent

    the list goes on.

    Now that's socialism.

    What we got in the US is a black president who was put on the pedestal to calm folks down. He is part of the problem because he is not socialistic enough.
