US-Israeli Friendship

  1. Except that in this case, the majority of this "influence" for Israel actually comes from Christians, from Evangelicals who support it for spiritual reasons, to the multitudes who see the importance of democratic, open allies in the Middle East.

  2. First of all, they can hate Israel and still the people can be jeaolous the more they see of a free and open society, and eventually most people will want the same.

Secondly, Israel has some allies, some more friendly than others, including India, Turkey, Qater and of course a tense alliance with Egypt. But from the guy that said that Egpyt only got millions in aid, and who later said that Egypt only got humanitarian aid while Israel got military aid (both incredibly false), and who has talked out of his ass at other times, I expect nothing less than the above statement.

  4. Yes....

Plus let us not forget where Israel is located and the black gold which sits under the sands of its neighbors. Also, since Iran's shaw was "lost", the US has needed a dependable proxy in the region. Religion and Democracy are but part of the story.

    gramps

You youngsters seem to have forgotten Israel's roots!

In the '40s, Menachim Begin was a terrorist operating in Palestine, later to be prime minister.

Since the '50's, Palestinians have lived in refugee camps, building more and more hatred for the US and Israel.

Golda was the only one that had any sense and then she up and died. If she had only prevailed (and lived to be 150), the region might have been in another place.

If Israel would just make nice, perhaps the camel jockies would calm down.

In the mean time, Osama rules the Middle East. Not a pretty picture.

  9. No - just one more accord to stall that they would have ended up crapping all over. Only way to show they reall want to work for peace is to stop building settlements outside their official state borders. Until then, they offer terrorists an ongoing recruitment opportunity.

  10. What BS! They offered over 95% of the West Bank and Gaza, an airport, tons of aid, and more. And was there further negotiation or serious continued counter-offers? No, the PA resorted back to full blown terrorism (which they'd kept up all along, just at a slightly lower grade)! So which is it, are you just incredibly ignorant of what happened and choose to talk out of your ass, or are you just that biased that you would twist things on purpose?
