1 million in the right south american country might be enough. If social security is still around and maybe a small pension you could live like a king.

I am seriously considering southern Chile in a few years.

  2. And one has to take into account : medical care costs extremely high if one health is not very good. This is where being in third world country can turn into a problem. :)

  3. That's what you get for being a fatass.

Disgusting obese people weighing down on the healthcare system. Absolutely disgusting.

  4. glad I value my health. :)
Basically the major cost for old people is healthcare cost.
Many Westerners retire to third world countries, till for medical
care reasons they have to come back home.

Paraguay is worth a look, I have heard its much cheaper then Chile.

Stay away from Argentina, it is a great country, but Taxes are out of control, and it is more expensive then the states as of March 2013, I thought I had been transported to Switzerland it was so expensive.

I'm not sure why the medical care would be the reason to come back. I have experienced that care is much cheaper in places Mexico, Argentina, and even first world countries in europe.

no one is immune to a disease. you don't have to be obese to get into a health problems. hey..a f** hip or knee replacement from JOGGING can set you back really good. i can live on 1M just fine for 30 years or more, assuming free healthcare, but you won't get any with your 1M on account.

  7. 70% of diseases are preventable. That is a fact.

People don't care about their bodies, then expect the healthcare system to take care of them. What a farce.

You can live in thailand on <$5000 a year - that would be a very good living. I think it's dispicable when people say you can't retire on 1M a year.

I know plenty of places where you can retire on $100k USD or less. People are so ignorant and dumb, and the most annoying part of it all is they aren't aware of how dumb they are.

  8. You probably like Thailand because you suck off all the lady boys.

And you're correct- you don't know how dumb you are.

I really like the climate and "alpine feel" of southern Chile. Paraguay seems as if it might be a bit too warm/humid for my tastes.

I had to Google "Lady boys" just to figure out what you were talking about. (I live a sheltered life... :D )

Seems to me living in Thailand would be confusing as hell especially for a senior citizen. Imagine not knowing for sure that you were admiring a young lady's ass or not.
