Yet of all the athletes in the entire world you could only find 5 that tested positive for covid twice while The NFL had 1800 vaccinated test positive.

Actually there is an endless list found in a simple Google search - -everything from basket players, to football players, to bicyclists, to swimmers, to soccer players. etc. etc. etc. Anyone who is actually interested can easily perform the Google search. It is not worth my time to cut & paste hundreds of results to entertain you.

You want someone to post the names of all the professional athletes on this planet that have been reinfected with Covid while knowing most professional leagues in the world typically do not specifically state one of their athletes has a "reinfection of Covid" ?

They instead will use phrases/statements that the athlete is either "self isolating", "quarantine" or under the league's Covid protocol without ever stating specifically its due to a Covid infection or the player was exposed to someone that was infected with Covid. :D
    • Pro leagues want to give the impression that their Covid protocols are working. Simply, the less specifics the release...they prefer the team or the athlete to give the details about their Covid infection.
For example, use google to look up what the NBA specifically say about "Covid reinfections" and Kevin Durant...you'll see they use the phrase "many others" along with lengthy discussion about "false positives" and without specifically naming how many others.
    • My point, the NBA is no different than the NFL, CFL, NHL, or any professional sports team in Europe. Thus, they are a very poor source for info about Covid before vaccination and after vaccination and they know it too which is why they continue to this day being very vague.
It will be crazy for them to actually maintain a list for public viewing of each player that has: vaccination breakthrough infection, reinfection after a recovery from a prior Covid infection or not vaccinated.

Instead, they make it sound like it's a PERSONAL DECISION of the athlete to disclose their status and I'm under the impression that most do not disclose any information except a few when they're hospitalized or their Covid Infection is leaked to the media when the media notice the player is no longer practicing with the team.

Last of all, the NHL has every one of their hockey players fully vaccinated except like 4 players. The Base Rate Fallacy threshold is now active for the NHL due to a small number of NHL players that are not vaccinated.

They do name players who were infected twice.GWB posted 3 of them from the NFL and NBA.While GWB could post only 1 case of reinfection from The NFL,I posted 1800 who were vaccinated from The NFL and still got covid.Real world results are clear. An unvaccinated person who already had covid is better protected than those who never had covid but are vaccinated. That's why the out of all the athletes in the world GWB could only find 5 cases of reinfection, not even close to the 1800 vaccinated from The NFL alone.

Did you read my other prior message post why Vaccination Breakthrough infections are easier to document than Covid Reinfections ?

Its a good read...data taken from several peer-reviewed articles and real-world statistics. I think I made that message post in this thread about the United States lagging much of the world in its genomic sequencing (only way to determine a verified Covid reinfection).

Seriously, you really need to not get fixated on professional athletes that have poor documentation. Instead you should be concentrating on peer-reviewed data plus supported by real-world hospital data when it comes to "reinfections" in the general public...its all posted here in the political section...

Most of the reinfection info is by me in which I list the specific 12 countries that monitor the genomic sequencing of Covid an its "reinfections" and the United States is not one of the listed 12 countries...primarily due do its ability to fund the research although we're better at documenting/researching reinfections since last year under the Biden administration.

Zero research under the Trump administration.

Another way to view the discussion about reinfections...you need to study the data and research by the 12 countries I listed. They have the reinfection data whereas in comparison...the United States does not have good documentation of "reinfections".

By the way, there's now the B.A.2 new variant...scientists are now doing testing to determine if it in fact can cause reinfections. The United States are not part of the research teams because the U.S. still only does genomic sequencing of a tiny percentage of hospital Covid infections.

Don't look at the data involving professional athletes...look at the peer-reviewed data of the general population and the real-world data of the hospitalization involving those questions I asked earlier that are revealed in Ottawa, Canada Covid Hospitalization numbers.

In the below video...Dr Maria Van Kerkhove, Technical Lead for COVID-19 at WHO and Dr Mike Ryan, Executive Director of WHO's Health Emergencies talks about reinfection and one particular study that's not named. I posted the data from that study in another thread without mentioning the below video.

In a different thread, I think in my own thread, I explain the importance of the 90 day rule for testing (genomic sequencing) for reinfections. The below video doesn't explain the importance of the 90 day rule.

Not worth anyone's time to cut & paste from the millions of Google results listing out athlete after athlete enduring reinfections. If anyone is truly interested they can easily do the search.

Bottom line: As outlined in multiple studies the unvaccinated have over twice the rate of reinfection compared to the vaccinated getting infection. Of course most of these studies were done prior to Omicron.

We will have to wait on the studies during the Omicron era. Seeing that most high-profile people (including athletes) are now vaccinated -- there is a very limited pool of recognizable individuals who are unvaccinated who will get reinfected and make the news. Hence -- with Omicron -- this is a base rate fallacy issue. What are the rates of reinfection of the small pool of unvaccinated recognizable people compared to the rate of infection among the large pool vaccinated recognizable individuals. Since over 95% of high-profile individuals (entertainers, athletes, etc.) are vaccinated there is little surprise that there are a large number of these individuals in the press recently during the last months where vaccination is highly available and the high-infectious Omicron variant is pervasive.
