You better go read the information that the U.S. not fully tracking reinfections in the manner that the U.K. and Israel are doing. Any re-infection count given by Maryland or any other state is a significant under-count -- for all the reasons that wrbtrader listed out.
All entities that don't properly track and generally don't report reinfections --- unless an individual publicly reveals it themselves.
If you want proper scientific data than you should use sources that properly tracked reinfections on a large-scale -- otherwise your assertions are meaningless.
Actually that is not what the non-peer reviewed study and information showed. But keep living your narrative -- however false. Let's remind you again. Unvaccinated individuals are over twice as likely to be re-infected - over 5 times in the most recent studies. The unvaccinated are over 5 times as likely to get Omicron, more than 17 times likely to be hospitalized (more than 48 times for older adults), and over 97 times as likely to die. The numbers are very stark in showing the benefits of Covid vaccination.
I've seen the genomic sequencing analysis statistics that the United States does (analyzes a measly 2.5 - 5% of Covid positive tests to verify Reinfections) while almost doing a +95% for Breakthrough Infections in comparison. A person doesn't need to know rocket science to know how the numbers are going to fall. For example, every state in the U.S. does maintain a database about Breakthrough Infections and most include the info in their state healthcare dashboard. In contrast, about 10 - 12 states do not keep data on Reinfections. Reinfection data is just not important to those states and/or they don't have the funding for such whereas documenting Breakthrough Infections is very easy (less paper work) to do because we have excellent documentation about who are vaccinated. That's ok because as I mentioned recently...the Breakthrough Infections are now those with Super Immunity. In comparison, those with Reinfections or not documented with Reinfections do not have the Super Immunity boost but they do have an immunity boost although it may come with other health problems known as "long covid". I posted a chart although I'm not sure for which state...that broke it down into the age groups, gender and ethnicity groups... The Vaccinated Breakthrough Infections in their group of total vaccination in their performance against Covid...they still blew away the Not Vaccinated in their smaller group of total not vaccinated and the Reinfections in an even smaller group of total. The most important statistic was the fact that those with Breakthrough Infections...they had less duration of hospitalization and higher survival ratios. Raw data numbers does not contain that info...period. wrbtrader
Let me remind you again in the real like Congress,Governors,The NFL etc and even The State of Maryland which tracks re infections those vaccinatrd are testing positive 10 times more than reinfections
