I didn't know Dr. J other than meeting him once at a bar near the CBOE. I was in the Microhedge office at the CBOE when he nearly blew-up in some pharma/biotech. A local ran into the office looking for another local to help move the paper while it was happening at the post.
He and Bridge got married at Cactus - that alone makes him CBOE royalty. He has a Facebook channel if you want to see his daily stuff. IMHO best unusual activity sight is TradeAlert.
"Why you prefer TradeAlert over the other services? Could you elaborate a little bit more?" Not just raw data - includes their analysis. Includes OPRA trade condition The crew is smart - ran a couple of index books Follow up Raw data in options is mostly meaningless I've posted some of their ideas here on ET and you can search back
Well, I signed up. The difficult part will be the money management which is suggested, but left up to each individual. The suggested stop loss is 50% and it's suggested to scale into and out of positions, which makes sense to me. I would prefer to have no stop loss at all, but he may not have enough picks to be able to diversify that much. I'm thinking of starting with 10k and up to 10 positions at a time. I will treat this as lottery-ticket part of overall portfolio with 30% overall stop loss - which affords me only 6 consecutive full losses at 50% - may be too aggressive for this strategy. Let's see.
TradeAlert was bought by CBOE and is being included in their data sales effort. What makes it best is all the analysis - color if what to call it - basically their data analysis of the objective of the trade.
