Unofficial TWS bug thread

Discussion in 'Retail Brokers' started by TWS_Beta_Tester, Apr 7, 2009.

  1. Several weeks ago, I used Tax Optimizer to set my account's Default Match Method to LIFO, for futures, equities, and options. I just verified that it's still set to LIFO. But in TWS, the values in the Realized P&L column in each Quote Monitor page and in the Account Window appear to be based on the lots being matched FIFO. Am I reading this incorrectly?

  2. Just 1 second later the bid was 116.17. I don't see anything really notable here. A dozen different conditions could cause that.

can anyone enlighten me,where on IB site i can find the place to finish my new bank instructions? where the *** did you buried this simple piece of information? i submit my info, test transactions been posted at my bank account. now i have to finish creating instruction process, but i can't. why not to put this information on exact same page where rest of the bank instruction is posted? i just don't get it. no logic.(and don't let me started on retarded 'side' tabs on your website. no doubt that IB is for active traders only.customer must have some serious skills in order to be able hit those tabs. speed and perfect coordination is a MUST! :)

i have 2 requests for IB:
can you please allow customer to opt out from emails notification regarding shorting particular stock? those emails just keep coming, even when i'm not trading at all. i didn't trade for last few days, yet my mailbox is full of them. i've been asking for such option for a very long time
the second request is an ability to DISABLE automatic sorting orders by the price. it's creates nothing, but confusion and errors when customer have few orders open for same security. once you change the price-order automatically moves up or down)depends on it's price). i don't want that. allow us to choose

This is often the result of the late revised qualified/unqualified dividends and capital gains distribution reported to brokers. Congress and the IRS are the ones that need to fix this late reporting problem for US tax payers.

there is too many things that needs to be fixed ASAP in this country, yet they are always busy on a f** ukraine or syria or some other distant shit hole..80K pages in US tax code! 80 f** thousands! from 700 back in a day.
if IRS is a clusterfuck, then IB should state-hey..due thos cocks**s in congress/irs we will release our forms on april XX. couple days before end of the tax season. manage your schedules with accountants accordingly. at least that would be honest attempt to help customers. i don't need those ff** orms on feb 15(typical deadline for most finance firms, that IB is pretend to meet) just to be adjusted at some random date later. be f** honest! that's all i'm asking for.
i just file my taxes..oops..we have some changes for you..THANKS! but it's too f** late!

glad to see old T&S format is back(after completely unnecessary and useless modification IB finally realized that what they done -doesn't make any sense)
but after i tried newest version of your TWS-first thing i noticed is same lame kindergarten level mistakes.. size of T&S window is always 'default'. same for position of it. customer can expand it,make it bigger, move it, but every time you close and open it again-it will be on exact same "defaulted" spot in IB's defaulted size
