Due to popular demand, T&S functionality was updated (a while back) to have set of old features in it, see 942 release notes; also, note that sub-penny pricing is shown in T&S for non-penny stocks on as needed basis (such as, when there is more than one trade aggregated in last tick resulting in weighted average price that would require sub-penny precision to be displayed properly). Open e.g. AAPL T&S during trading hours and check Last column.
I don't think its an aggregation issue (I hope not) since these are usually single trades , frequently 100 lot. I'll try to get a screen shot of this.
---Due to popular demand, T&S functionality was updated (a while back) to have set of old features in it, see 942 release notes;-- Finally! i didn't check and update my TWS very often(for well known reasons) - so i missed that one. the only thing that left to make this T&S window perfect and in line with industry basic standards is one more field-EXCHANGE
Here's my beef: Every three months when the futures contracts are about to roll over, IB automatically places the next contract onto your TWS main page. Okay...that's all good. The problem is that all your charts automatically switch to the next contract. That ain't good because it is too soon to start trading the new contract because of low volume. Please, IB, stop forcing the chart changes.
it would be really helpful(combined with exchange field),but from my experience-there a whole lot of them out there. much more than you can imagine. some bots are poking for liquidity or hidden orders with those 1-2 shares lots. but! i would give the customer an option to display those fields and round\odd lots.
Agree, or at least make the change in the charts no earlier than the day that orders for that contract aren't accepted due to delivery.
Yep, well aware there's a lot of noise in the odd lot printing. Easy enough for tws to filter it out by size. So you'd only see >50 shares or whatever you want.
why IB always trying reinvent the wheel? tried their scanner for bonds on latest browser TWS they have all sorts of yields. current ask yield, ask yield(what's the difference anyway?), last,at bid etc. everything. EXCEPT FOR TWO THAT COMMONLY USED IN FINANCE-YIELD TO WORSE and even more common- YIELD TO MATURITY or YTM. nope. don't have them. no help for all those fancy yields either. on bond that on screenshot-current ask yield is 0.013. what is it? %? some sort of value? $? ask yield looks more or less close to reality. the funniest part- i goggled yield to maturity calculator and tried top 5 of them-they all come up with different results. man..21 century.they got all fancy s**t,HFT,NSA spying on whole entire world, drones, rovers on mars, but couldn't come up with decent YTM calculator for us to use..boy oh boy..
The yield you see is yield to worst; it could be calculated using different price (bid or ask or last), and this is what you see in corresponding yield columns (bid yield, ask yield, last yield); âcurrent bid yieldâ or âcurrent ask yieldâ is simple linier approximation of yield (in nutshell: coupon divided by relevant price) see more on this in User Guide and in knowledge base article We did show yield and current yield in different terms, 9440d TWS beta is being posted with this corrected â all yields will be shown in % term in columns. We do not display YTM since for callable bonds this number is not indicative (and likely misleading).
