tried latest browser TWS-same thing. you add and arrange the columns on scanner, save template, but once you clicked search (or load template)-they all will be mixed. SSDD basic settings.common, essential things, that ANY Q&A worker suppose to test FIRST before any release. DECADE...and they all still there..but hey..we got f** funari orders now! isn't great?
IB got me good today. i was foolish enough to upgrade f** java yesterday to 1.70.45..boy oh boy.. at 9:30 my TWS freezes completely. a bit later i got fill via API,i was trying to enter the ticker into TWS-nope. no can do. i can't type. i didn't change a thing, just updated java and now i got totally messed up TWS behavior. i understand that according to IB developers a decent machine for their piece of junk is at least i7 with at least 8gb of fastest possible ram.but did anyone actually doing testing on slower machines? have you tried it? oh..i forgot..based on things that i've pointed out earlier-nobody at IB is even bothers with any kind of testing. they just dump their s** on the customer and let them figure things out. slow TWS? their first advise-upgrade java. became even slower? upgrade your PC. to at least i7. should i upgrade my PC every f** year? or every time i upgrade either java or TWS? by the time it took me to close this frozen crapper and re login, the stock is gone far far away against me..and a bonus-after i was able to type a ticker into TWS and tried to right click on it to pull up the chart-can't do that either. this simple task now requires to minimize TWS,open it back and only THEN you can right click on ticker and get to the charts. GREAT WORK IB! (as usual). keep it up!
and another great news from your wonderful partner -oracle-you can't get the old java, unless you open an account with them. hey Larry f** Ellison! FU too
Bob, The more I read about your experiences, the more I appreciate how hard it is to be a day trader and make money consistently all these software issues, computer problems, IT techsh*t problems, along with the things that are needed to be a good day trader like good execution, research, keeping abreast of news, research spanning multiple years, programming, developing custom tools - and then current trading environment like hft sh8t, broker sh8t, subpenny, internalization etc. etc. etc. Frankly, if one is not making at least 150k per year, this day trading sh*tting career is just not worth it.
you right,it's not..i'm getting close to giving up on all this. the problem is-what you going to do then? what you going to put on your resume? you know this, you know that, you know little bit of everything, you are one man army..but the problem is-nobody need that. you will be either under qualified or over qualified. in either case no one will hire you. i will give it a few more months and if nothing changes-I'll probably go into a real estate. fix,rent-i can do all that s** too and have enough money to buy and rent an f** street. sick of this rat race
What happened with SMART routing starting today (11/4/13)? If you select Highest Rebate, it will often (but not always) route to CBSX for a non-marketable limit order. The problem is that that exchange charges a fee for adding liquidity. So it should be the last choice for the SMART router, not the first. This problem just started today for me (no change in TWS settings on my end). Wondering if other people are also seeing this?
that used to happen after internet disconnect. If you close the chart and reopen it, the problem used to correct. Don't know why IB engineers didn't rectify it. Can't be that hard to solve!! Anyways, you starting to sim trade ES/NQ futures, Bob? Good luck!!
