Unofficial TWS bug thread

    Well it changes the layout for me and remembers the columns I've chosen. Without setting the columns in the global config, they are reset every time I search, as per Bob111's comment that I was responding to.

    it has nothing to do with global configuration . but a lot to do with 'common sense' and general rules of GUI programming.
    customer creates his own layout for a scanner-but it's goes back to 'default' after each modification of search parameters. makes no sense to me. and makes even less sense-when customer saves his template layout,but later trying to restore it-all he got is same 'default' layout. just a bad,careless programming + same for QA(which probably doesn't exist at all).

    I completely agree. The software is a design nightmare. Just suggesting a workaround if you regularly use the same columns as I do.

    of course it does.
    the programming has affected the workings of global configuration in this scenario.

    it seems that you have no issues in the arrangements of the columns. is that statement correct?

    there is no workaround that currently works to save changed columns.

    Correct. I have configured (in global config) the columns I require in the order I require them and they persist correctly between searches and between TWS sessions. If I instead setup the columns in the scanner tab itself, the changes are lost upon initiating a new search.

    Note that I am using TWS version 927.7, not the latest version.

    for last couple days on one PC TWS account window is all over the place. you click on account window-it can open anywhere,on any monitor(including position behind TWS main screen).
    those are the things i'm talking about for over a DECADE. you can't add more s**, if your basic SETTINGS aren't working properly for 13 f** years,since i was using it.
    stand alone 937.2 on 1.7 0_17 java,sitting on dedicated Pc,where no other software is running. just plain bare setup and no updates,changes been made on my side. everything is disabled,no auto updates

    now on multiple accounts orders got stuck and not executing at all . color-light blue.(limit, "SMART" submitted via API). have to manually cancel them and close positions manually. what's wrong with you guys? every day there is something new pops up.

  9. Can I just add my name to the list of people complaining about the Scanner "template" that doesn't actually get saved?

    I have a scanner that looks for bonds. When I find the bonds and they populate the list, I want to see the yield & duration of the bonds... so I add those columns. I then click "save layout" -- silly me to think that this is saving the layout of columns that I have just customized.

    Can we please get this fixed... it doesn't really seem like that hard of a problem to solve!

    it isn't. but for whatever reason it's ain't working. after YEARS of complaints.
