updated manually and just for fun checked my favored T&S window-SSDD settings aren't working,position aren't working,resizing aren't working. how many months are we talking about it ? ticket with tax reports where some trades are showed as short term,while they are over a year-finally got reviewed by someone(after 2 weeks!)with message-i will get back to you shortly(that was a week ago) but! they did updated 8949 worksheet and didn't update 1099 B now-no matter what- the numbers aren't' going to match. one more time-it is impossible to match the numbers on 8949 with numbers in 1099B nice job!(as usual) Just like Mr Green said in his thread- do not file your taxes now!wait until very end,cause they will update and modify their forms and worksheets.
out of curiosity tried scanner this morning. same exact thing that demonstrates the level of IB's programmers. basic common programming practices are either not known or deeply forgotten at IB.along with basic Q&A . you open up scanner- with default columns . you add for example last price column,volume-make it the way YOU like. press search-everything worked. now-you modify your search criteria and press search again-settings are gone and all you can see is those same default columns. every time you press search-your settings\columns are gone. ok..that's not all. since i'm a bit 'advanced' user-i quickly found button-save\load template. aha! now i can save my scanner page setup with all those columns! saved it,closed scan page-> open it-load template->same default window. my column aren't there. boy oh boy..and those people actually get paid for such work? my offer of being in Q&A is still standing. i don't know how much IB is paying those kids,but i can do this for much less,working part time. hire me for your own good
Bob, its both hilarious and disappointing to read the bugs that you find and report here. Really, it makes no sense that default settings don't get saved. Although, IB has a great product overall but QA sucks. IB Management - In my professional opinion, you should hire Bob for QA. No one is denying that programmers at IB are working on some real cool features but you guys will also accept that a lot of the stuff that gets to production leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes its just bad QA, sometimes its due to programmers not having the perspective of a trader (who is the actual user). A guy like Bob on the team would be useful to keep tabs on and correct the mistakes. Bob in QA of IB would be someone like a risk manager at a trading floor. No trader likes RM but he does an incredibly important job. Similarly, I can foresee that your programmers might not have a great liking towards Bob, but the overall quality would go up. I understand it is IB's internal matter and I am giving my unsolicited opinion, but as a customer, I will be happy if products that get rolled out into production are more thoroughly checked and tested. Really, it makes no sense that default settings don't get saved. -- no no..customers settings aren't saved. you always getting default layout. and i have those problems with settings here and there for over a decade! i've been saying this for many many years-you can't move on and keep adding all those useless features in ever damn builds(which they releasing ever few weeks),without DECADE old bugs. and those are basic things,like those settings,mentioned above. they keep adding more an more stuff that just doesn't make sense. like those tool tips ALL over the place,which basically repeat same thing that was on the screen already. you point it on your bid-tool tip pops up displaying same number. WHAT FOR? the price is on front of me ALREADY. i can see it! same for order-you point mouse on order price-tool tip pops up with same price. you roll mouse point over TWS window with bunch of tickers on it- a f** barrage of tool tips from all over the places will appear. POINTLESS and distracting.
IE freezes when i go on IB's 'new and improved 'short list page http://www.interactivebrokers.com/e...tag=United%20States&ib_entity=llc&ln= all browsers freeze when i type short list on IB's site search box and press 'search' or after good couple minutes returns nothing. a blank page with Ib's header on top
looks like that % change is wrong today. anyone? i'm missing something? IWM is up,while it's actually flat.
