I hear you saying that in Kylo Ren voice when he is behind the mask. Not an opinion of your views...Just what I hear in my head.
Bingo Bango Bongo, as some here would say. Been going on for decades, just so peeps can get more free monies. The more kids you have, the more money you get through WIC. Cheap and easy. Pop out a tart, get an extra 800 or whatever per month in free shit. America LOVES free shit. They'll even have kids and sacrifice them to get that free shit. Somebody needs to pay for someone else's children! Wheeee! Socialism at it's finest!
That's a rather pessimistic view. America's birth rate is declining despite the "poor people just pop out kids for money" argument. Purely conjecture, but I'd attribute this to a number of factors, not the least of which being the cost of child care, the requirement of two income families, and the rising costs of housing. Moreover, WIC is not free money. It's food and supplies assistance. Maybe there is a black market converting this to cash - but dropping family members off at the local WIC facility left me more sick than jealous. As a result of declining birth rates, both sides of aisle are content on importing unvetted people from other (questionable) nations in order to fill our delta in birth rates. This drives down wages and increases profits for the mega-corps. Is this truly the America we want? Perhaps we should look after Americans first. We may be a nation of immigrants, but we also have a culture and a history to look after. If Americans aren't having children - who will carry the American torch? I find it strange alleged nationalists would not support some form of UBI/assistance for their fellow countrymen.
Just make sure you're not one of those that simplify their thought process and analysis to political labels (with binary truth values), in this case 'socialist: true' for that proposition. It's intellectually lazy and nothing rational comes out of that. I used to take shortcuts like that when I was a vehement anti-leftist in my teenage years... UBI may well suck but it's not due to whether deemed socialist or not.
The math part is in the first vid, so il stay only with fundamentals. Two things always existed and always will : Pareto Distribution and Human Nature. $1 000 is not going to solve/change that. Marxists tried to deny those universal laws, -didn't end up well. Loterry winners as well, nah, - doesn't work. As if that money could raise peoples cognitive ability's test scores, boots people minds with vision and purpose , and... Make them to stop complaining, realise that life is continuous struggle (if one goes for the big goals and more likely if he does not), and climb the hierachical ladders in legal ways, that in the end would benefit the whole society. Extra more, could be payid only to those, who were forced to leave their jobs/ got laid off, due A.I disruption e.g 3 mil truck drivers within 10 / 15 years. Otherwise, : ,, Here's , $1 000, for you, per month, all the time, now go and make your life and the world, a better place !" (While we focus on how to print more extra $) Ain't gona solve anything.
National socialism is good if done right. It's debatable if UBI is good for the country. Disadvantages: 1. Inflation. Since money is given to everyone and it's free money. People will spend wastefully. Basic goods will increase in prices. 2. It's a waste because the rich gets it too. They don't need it. 3. No incentive to work. The poor will remain poor and the borderlines will not work because it's better to just stay at home and receive the monthly money, rather than working and paying huge taxes, ended getting nothing more. 4. The rich will flee, corporations will flee due to high taxes. Will set up factories in countries like Mexico, etc and sell back to the USA. 5. Higher taxes will also contribute to higher prices of goods. Customers bearing the costs. Hence, Inflation. If the money is given to everyone, then inflation would adjust itself and will diminish the buying power. To retain the inflation, the money should be given only to the needed ones. By that, inflation will likely be constant. People generally don't like when their money is being robbed and be given to people that are lazy. Solution: 1. Keep the taxes low so that they get to keep most of their income. The rich's personal income could be taxed at a higher rate. Doesn't really affect them. 2. Corporate tax has to be low to attract companies, creating jobs. 3. Welfare should be continued by providing basic needs like food, water, clothes, shelter and medicines. If they want more, they will have to work. Giving money to these people is useless as they will spend on things that they don't really need. Eventually, they will start finding for jobs.
Who is rich? So far as I can tell, the definition is almost always "anyone with more than me." The higher income brackets already pay disproportionate amount of the total tax burden (relative to share of income) - which is to be expected, but there are limits to how far this can be pushed.
The rich in US gonna break any moment now: Apologies for somewhat ironic tone. Generally speaking, capital income is where it's at. Income tax remains a shitty incentive to work less.
