The stories you hear about that are generally jobs that were advertised, in other words they were out where every other job seeker out there is looking, therefore the 75 applicants for one position. That doesnât necessarily reflect every open position. But like I said, I hear stories about qualified people who really canât find jobs and are doing anything, but when I think about it, I still canât think of one person I know who is flat out unemployed. So I think maybe the 10% rate is accurate, but I would hate to even think about what the underemployment rate is. I think thatâs really whatâs killing people. Just like you said, people taking any job just to have one. Itâs really sad when you think about the true state of our economy.
