  2. They should make unemployed people work 40 hours per week to be able to receive an unemployment check. They can clean the streets and highways, paint, build homes for the poor and other construction projects, work on farms, etc. No one needs to be homeless or hungry. There is plenty of land to farm and grow food on. Any work for the people would be better than letting all of these people stay home for 2 years just watching TV and posting on Facebook all day. They would help by contributing to the country and its people.

  5. It is government interference with the economy and labour markets favouring unproductive sectors which got the USA in the position where it is today and you want to fix it....by letting the government decide where the unemployed should go to work.

Can't you see the irony in that?

So, city dwellers should report to the countryside for agriculture work and reeducation?

Pol Pot would like your attitude.

  7. The rural unemployed can work on farms. The city and suburban unemployed can work on projects in the cities and suburbs. I'm sure there are plenty of things that can be thought of to produce some kind of work for the unemployed. It's not fair that people have to bust their ass working, while others make the same amount of money collecting unemployment checks.

  8. Sounds like a program that, once in place, could be easily exploited by private interests.

  9. I think unemployed Americans should not expect White Collar jobs.
They should move to manufacturing industry and agriculture sector.
