So Trump declaring victory at 10PM on election night knowing full well that all the votes were not counted is not fraud? He was setting up an argument so that if he lost he can claim he won but then it was stolen from him. GOP are distancing themselves because they know he lost and he no longer has any power over them....watch them slowly step away and turn their backs on them because they know they need to cover their own asses and maintain the Senate and fight get the House in 2 years.
I'm not sure I'd call it fraud since it doesn't affect the result. I'd call it stupid, arrogant, fat mouthed, egotistical, and a few words I know in other languages. You know, typical Trump.
yes not fraud but an atempt to influence the election before all the votes were counted. What does his rabid base think when he declares victory but the media disagrees and then shows Biden winning? They believe his claim of fraud and then start acting up. Trump will have his day in court but I guarantee, all of his claims have no merit.....just theories to try and explain how he lost rather than simply accept that he lost. I have not seen Trump ever admit he did something wrong so why would he admit the people rejected him overall.
That's a reasonable hypothesis, but it has been tested, repeatedly, and in states that have allowed mail-in voting for decades. No significant fraud has been found to date.
Again, I'm not - in any way - excusing anything Trump has said or done during the course of this election. And again, I am happy he is going away. All I am saying is that we should have taken extra care to provide a very transparent process. We did not. And because of it we will suffer, and we can't throw stones at other countries that aren't transparent.
Ok fine, but there are enough Americans claiming it that's its a thing. Another poster said something about "widespread fraud" I inferred you were on board with that. You needn't worry about any fraud investigations or recounts Trump will exhaust all of those no matter how pointless some of them are. Some are saying that even if isolated fraud or miscounting events or occurred it's going to be immaterial in the bigger picture. I suppose there is a tiny, tiny slither of a chance that Americans can't run elections. Canada runs clean elections no problem, so the natural assumption here would be Americans can too.
Ugh, again with the Canada. I know, Canada has no problems. I get it. The issue here is simple: A highly polarized election with individuals on both sides of the spectrum saying they would not accept results or should not concede and an unprecedented mail in ballot campaign has conspired to get us to where we are. We should have done a better job. We didn't. End of story.
All States had a form of absentee or mail in voting prior to the election. Never before have States mailed ballots to registered voters without the the voter requesting them. There was no attempt to verify addresses, if the voters still lived at those addresses or if they were literally alive. The rules were changed a few months if not weeks before the election. The whole “we’ve been doing it” is a non sequitur.
